The history shows that the elements of Malays architecture come out and standing strongly on life philosophy which is based on the strength of belief and the religion. Even though there are some sign of assimilation influence of foreign culture to outside esthetical but it still intact and strong until late of 18 century.
Today, the developing country and economy after our independence day has also brought us to the changing the esthetical value in architecture moving together with the education system, lifestyle, the way we think and social-culture of malays people.
The modernization of life has cause the taste of esthetical and design of the building and houses are changing to the design that more modern and contemporary. Without any effort to preserve the value of a Malays architecture, these changing will slowly disappeared the desire to the design of melayu architecture and esthetical value which is known as a symbol and malays identity.
Therefore, some effort should be taken to make sure all these will not be gone. The should see there is the need of a new distinct identity but still preserve the esthetical value so that we could be suit with other developing country. We might be create and plan the strategy in order to achieve the identity that symbolize the philosophy, nature, and personality of malays in this era.
The action that might be taken such as the adaptation of esthetical elements and Melayu architecture inside the buildings or the houses or we called it “Industrialize Building System”. In the past years, many modern buildings have focused their design concepts on the malays vernacular architecture particularly the malays houses and palaces, the commercial building, hotels and chalets. Other than that the technology of the manufacture and tools that use in Malaysia architecture could be renew. Beside that, encourage and assist the Malays designer, architects, and engineers to create the wonderful and fantastic architecture together with the sorted of concepts that can be implemented such as contemporary the combination of modern and traditional. We also cannot forget the role of media communication and educational institutions to give the awareness and promote the generation today to preserve our priceless heritage from being gone.
Early melayu architecture was very influenced and diversified due to its two divisions in the melayu community which is the Pro- melayus and the Deutro-melayu.
The Deutro-melayus lived further inland thus limiting their contact with other people as many chose to travel by sea at that time. The Pro-melayus lived at the seaside thus being exposed to foreign influence as many came to explore the lands.
This caused a great gap between the Pro-melayu and the Deutro-melayus as the Pro-melayu were getting more and more modern, leaving the Deutro-melayu behind with several thousands years less of technology.
This Megalithic culture of the Pro-melayu and the Deutro-melayus caused many inventions of Malays architecture being framed by Animism. They had prayed to their ancestors who had died for respect and also for their “protection” under the care of their ancestors
Malays architecture was basically at first very simple and minimalist to accommodate their families as they have very simple tools and also very low economy at that point of time.

Thus the only purpose of the houses was to protect themselves from the rain and sun and also to be easily movable when there was a need to. But later, there was a great development in their construction to suit their ever changing lifestyles and needs. There were also many new more useful and complex tools that were invented to build more stable, bigger and more beautiful houses
